Q. Do I have to be athletic or have a martial arts background to participate in the classes?
A. No you do not. We train students of all skill levels. Our training will push each individual at a different pace. Your pace will be determined by your Sensei or Instructor and will be based on your physical condition.
Q. What is the main difference between Karate and Muay Thai/Self Defense?
A. Karate is a form driven art form and Muay Thai/Self Defense is a street style self defense system. Karate will stress more form style fighting, fluid movements, controlled attacks, and traditional disciplines. Muay Thai/Self Defense is a mixed martial art that has one goal only… to save your life from an unpredictable street, home, car, bar, night or day attack. Karate is a very disciplined fighting style that is both beautiful and an effective form of self defense. Muay Thai/Self Defense is raw and powerful, yet can be learned quickly. Both styles will push you physically and mentally. Karate will give you a wonderful look into an ancient art with a chance to become more in tune with your mind and body. Muay Thai/Self Defense will give you the knowledge, strength, and stamina needed for real life confrontations.
Q. What if I have trouble keeping up with the class?
A. No problem. We realize that not everyone is in the same physical condition. All we ask is each person gives 100% while in class. You only have to do the best you can. Before too long you will have no problem keeping up.
Q. May I try out a free class before I join?
A. We wouldn’t have it any other way. Just contact us and let us know when you would like to stop by, and we will set up a good day to have you come in.
Q. What do I need to wear to my introductory class?
A. Just sweats or shorts and a T-shirt.
Q. Would you recommend me taking more than one class?
A. All of our classes complement each other, so if you are physically able and want to become a well rounded martial artist we recommend that you participate in as many as you would like.
A. We would prefer to discuss cost after you have seen what we have to offer. Once you have completed your free introductory class we will go over all the sign up details.
Q. Are there any age requirements?
A. For Karate we have adult and children classes. Children’s classes start at age 4, and Adult classes start at age 16. Muay Thai/Self Defense is for ages 16 and up. (Younger students may be evaluated by the Instructor)
Q. What is the difference between Karate and XMA?
A. Karate stresses the traditional form and kata. XMA is the Hollywood version of martial arts that contains the flashier acrobatic moves that you see in the movies.
Q. My question was not answered here, so now what?
